The Son of Man Coming

The Roman Empire was the abomination that brought desolation to Jerusalem and its temple. When the legions surrounded the cities, they did so as vultures carrying the Aquila on their poles. The Jews would have thought to run into the city of Jerusalem to get behind its walls for protection as Romans approached, but Jesus told His disciples to flee to the mountains because Jerusalem was the target, and God had ordained for it to be brought to desolation.

The tribulation of that day was great, but nothing like what's to come upon those who reject Christ like the Jews overwhelmingly did. Because when the Son of Man appears, all the tribes of the earth will mourn and faint from fear and expectation of the things coming upon the world.
