From Ground & Breath

When the earth was mostly desert, God watered the whole surface of the ground from below and formed man from the mud. Our origins were humble, but as clay shaped by the hands of the potter, we were formed as vessels with purpose. And when God breathed into Adam the breath of life, he was animated as living clay.
In Yahweh breathing the breath of life into Adam’s nostrils, we have a shadow of eternal life, in which the Spirit of God imparts life not merely into our nostrils and then lungs (the outer man), but into our minds and hearts (the inner man).
