In and Out of Darkness

Jesus' lineage flows through a people whose disobedience caused them to be banished to exile in Babylon. But even when God brought them back home, their worship yet again became nothing more than giving God the leftovers of their lives. As they are plunged into darkness for the last time, Jesus' genealogy is a reminder that God is forever faithful to a people who never could be on their own.
